THE AWARD CATEGORIES
1. SMALL HOUSE
A house of contemporary or vernacular design that provides accommodation up to 2000 sq ft.
2. FAMILY HOME
A house of contemporary or vernacular design that provides accommodation over 2000 sq ft.
3. BESPOKE LUXURY LIVING
A house of contemporary or vernacular design exceeding 5000 sq ft. that champions best practice in design, specification and craftsmanship
4. INTERIOR DESIGN
Presented by Poggenpohl
In partnership with BIID (British Institute of Interior Design)
A new or refurbished home judged on internal architectural integrity and how finishes, colour and furnishings have been employed to successfully answer its specific design brief
5. APARTMENT BUILDING
A single, one-off building or scheme comprising apartments and/or studios offering flexible living and lifestyle benefits
6. CONVERSION, RESTORATION OR REFURBISHMENT
A conversion, refurbishment or restoration of any residential, commercial or industrial building(s) to provide new homes, ranging from a single home to a major development
7. AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
For the most imaginative and functional development by a registered social housing provider, charity, trust or public body in partnership with a local authority and/or a developer for rent and/or shared ownership. This award is for more than a standard Section 106 allocation but can include student accommodation
8. AGE-RESTRICTED DEVELOPMENT
Retirement developments and/or care homes specifically addressing the requirements of the ageing occupants (over 55s) judged on external and internal design, layout, landscaping and security and the provision of services and communal amenities
9. MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
A scheme comprising houses and/or apartments offering a variety of tenures with associated retail, office or leisure development on the same site, demonstrating a significant contribution to the local community
10. DEVELOPMENT OF THE YEAR
A residential development of any size that demonstrates a positive aesthetic architectural contribution within its immediate environ
11. HOUSING PROJECT
In partnership with HardHat
For the most impressive scheme of houses and/or apartments with planning consent but not more than six months into development. It is anticipated that this entry will rely solely on CGIs
HOMEBUILDER OF THE YEAR
In partnership Premier Guarantee
Awarded to the home builder or developer whose portfolio of entries across the categories that demonstrates a commitment to:
• sustainable regeneration
• the establishment of new communities
• strong architectural design and landscaping
• innovative construction methods and build quality
• environmental initiatives
ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR
Awarded to the Architectural Practice submitting the most impressive portfolio of entries across the categories that demonstrate the same commitments as the above.
